Trevor Allen says of his work: “Relief printing is the best means I have found to express my ideas. I enjoy every stage of the prints' development, but most of all cutting the block and the final colour printing. I have always been open to influences from many quarters. I studied under Michael Rothenstein, and worked later with Philip Sutton. Traditional Japanese printmakers like Utamaro and Kunisado have meant much to me, together with strong memories from childhood of books like Herge Adventures of Tin Tin and the Dandy and Beano comics”.
