Joyce Reopel Zabarsky was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and educated at the Ruskin School of Fine Arts at Oxford University in England, The School of the Worcester Art Museum, and Yale-Norfolk. Reopel Zarbarsky was also an associate professorship at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts , and has taught part-time for several years in the Department of the Arts at the University of New Hampshire.
Her professional career as an artist includes eight one-man exhibitions in Boston and New York as well as grants from the National Institute of Arts and Letters and the Ford Foundation. She spent two years as a Radcliffe Scholar as a grantee from Radcliffe Institute for Independent Study and she is a member of the Radcliffe Society of Fellows. She is known for her figurative drawing and sculpture.
Joyce Reopel Zabarsky is a Democratic candidate for representative to the General Court from Ward 5 and has been active in community affairs since moving to Portsmouth in 1969.
She is married to Professor Zabarsky of the University of New Hampshire and is the mother of two daughters.
