| A painter and graphic artist, Jacob Landau was born in Philadelphia in 1917. He studied at the Philadelphia College of Art, the New School for Social Research in New York and the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, France.
Landau taught art at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art and at the Pratt Institute in New York, where he served as the Chairman of the Department of Graphic Arts.
