| Both Connie and Thomas Clarkson were born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Ohio University with their MFA in Ceramics.
During their collaboration Connie and Thomas did everything together from working the clay, to creating the glazes, to packing and shipping their work. With white stoneware they used the traditional wheel and slab building techniques to produce their work. The pieces were then decorated with a thick slip and finished with a hardwood ash glaze.
They had been working jointly since 1978, but are now working independently.
